Consensus mechanism
In blockchain networks, consensus is the foundational process through which a group of computers, called nodes, reaches an agreement on the validity of data entries. Specifically, consensus ensures that every participant in the network agrees on the state of the shared ledger, confirming that any changes made to it are accepted by the majority. This is achieved through a set protocol, or consensus mechanism, designed to establish a single, trusted source of information that everyone can rely on.
